Issue No. 1 of the myKPW Newsletter!

Issue No. 1 of the myKPW Newsletter has been released! We are so excited to be able to share what has been going on with myKPW with all of our vendors and friends!

Check it out below, we hope you all enjoy it!

Wow, I can’t believe October is almost halfway over! Our son, Zachary, will be turning one on November 13th, which is difficult enough to imagine. myKPW will be launching on schedule, January 1st, and we are excited to announce that we will be releasing your log in and temporary password in the next week or so. You will be able to create your vendor directory, upload images, audio and video, submit expert advice and real weddings, and start blogging directly on myKPW or you can RSS feed your own blog directly to myKPW. In addition, we will be creating daily inspiration boards from all of your fabulous images based on color, style, and season so brides will have a lot to work with when we launch.

Warmest Regards,

KP

In order to create a lot of buzz around the January launch of myKPW, we have decided to allow vendors to post any of their expert advice, real weddings, and blog entries to their own personal blog, Facebook and/or Twitter account. When a bride clicks through to one of these features, they will be able to read the entire entry. When and if they click on anything else, a dialogue box will appear, explaining our January 2010 launch and allows them to sign up to receive monthly updates about the site’s progress. In addition, they will be given the exact date and time of the launch, 24 hours prior. This will really get the search engine rankings to establish themselves significantly before the website launches!

Weddings: For design inspiration, we know that brides LOVE real weddings.
At myKPW, we want to offer real weddings that are inspiring and attainable for each bride. To achieve this, brides will be able to sort through the beautiful real weddings by color, season, and style. A bride will only be shown the real weddings within her state and overall wedding budget, allowing the appropriate and affordable vendors to be showcased. Real weddings are the best way to show your work first hand, as an example of an entire wedding. You can include a brief description of your experience with your clients and what made the event special to you as a vendor. There will also be a place to list all of the vendors involved with the wedding. Anyone who is a member of myKPW will have a link to their directory page, and the other vendors included will be named without a link.

As we get closer to launching, we felt it was truly important to recognize the incredible crew we have working behind the scenes on this website. So this month, we’d love to introduce to everyone, Derek Barka!

Derek is a software engineer specializing in Microsoft-based technologies and Web Content Management Systems. He began his career with Microsoft, including a two year relocation to balmy Fargo, ND, and has consulted for companies in various industries including finance, education, manufacturing, and of course the wedding industry.

Derek currently resides in Litchfield, NH with his wonderful wife and two kids. He enjoys spending time with his family and doing just about anything outdoors - especially if it allows him to act like a kid himself. In his spare time, he's a news junky, loves politics (can often be found watching the School Board meeting on a Wednesday evening) and is a passionate Red Sox and Patriots fan. In his distant past, he was a gymnast extraordinaire and will still do a back flip on request. Some day he hopes to hang up his geek hat and run a burrito shack.

myKPW Badge: One of the most affective SEO (search engine optimization) ranking tools is to have multiple URL’s pointing to one central URL. That is one of the two reasons why we are requiring our myKPW family members to put a badge on your website. The other reason is because you are part of a unique and exclusive group of vendors in New England and NYC/Westchester County and showing this badge represents a very high level of customer service and product.

Below are two sizes of the badge along with the code that can be copied and pasted.

Year 2009 Receipts: For anyone interested in receiving a receipt for their 2009 payment(s), you may request a copy anytime after January 5th, 2010.

Editorial Blog Coverage: While the launch of the site is only a few months away, we’d still like to get the buzz out about our vendors on the blog and we highly encourage it! One of our members just the other day called us to let us know that she booked a client for next year as they found out about her from the myKPW blog – so cool! While the myKPW team continues to contact you with thoughts for potential editorial input, please feel free to send us anything that excites you about your work, or a question that a bride asked you, or a featured wedding.

Upcoming Events: After the holiday season, sometime in mid-January, the myKPW team is planning to host two galas to gather all of our members. We will be planning one in Connecticut and one in Southern, New Hampshire to make sure the events are accessible for everyone. Stay tuned!

...................................................................................................................................................................................................

Gatherings: We’ve had very successful GTGs over the past few weeks and want to thank everyone for joining us! We also want to give a special thanks to Matthew J. Wagner in (Farmington, Connecticut) and Samantha and Whitney from Gus & Ruby Letterpress (Portsmouth, New Hampshire) for graciously allowing us to takeover their studios for the evening – and to those who’ve offered their studios for us to use. We plan to have more get-togethers in the future so if it’s ok to invade your space, let us know!

...................................................................................................................................................................................................

We’d love to hear from you so see if your business would be the right fit for our growing family. Please send any and all information to our main email:info@kateparkerweddings.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
